Founded in 2023, Freya J Morris is a writer whose move to Oxford inspired her passion for printmaking. She took her first printmaking course in The Bodleian’s letterpress workshop in the Old Bodleian Library under Robin and Rosie from The Wytham Studios. Freya, The Brayer prints are inspired by the rich history of Oxford, its architecture and the research within its walls.
“As a writer, I am always experimenting with words and time. A curious mix emerged – a nostalgia combined with a re-examining of the past, present and future. Often, my stories had them all bleeding through at once as if happening at the same time, and my artwork is the same. I have always been drawn to physically manifest those ideas in some way and traditional printmaking allows me to do just that. And Oxford is the perfect amphitheatre to those ideas.” Freya Morris

The city of spires is an inspiring place to be, and these nostalgic, stylised Lino Prints which are printed on pages from an old Oxford Dictionary, will take you back to those cobbled streets and sandcastle walls.
